
Nedu Izuegbunam

Nedu Izuegbunam is currently a second-year graduate student in Springfield College's (Mass.) Psychology Department and is seeking his Master of Education (M.Ed) Degree in Athletic Counseling. Prior to moving to Massachusetts, he received his Bachelor of Journalism (B.J.) Degree in 2014 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. As an undergraduate, he covered several sports as a sports-writer all four years, including football, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, women's gymnastics, women's tennis, and men's and women's track and field. Izuegbunam also assisted Dr. Anne Schutte and Greg DeGirolamo with research in Spatial Memory and Cognition his senior year. It was the combination of both experiences that increased his passion and interest in helping athletes reach their full potential.
Izuegbunam's counseling experience includes working with athletes and non-athletes, helping them set realistic goals and working together to achieve them. He has worked with multiple demographics, including a wide-range of age groups, such as children (2 to12), youth (13-25), and adult (25 to 70). His experience includes working as an Athletic Counselor, Behavioral Health Counselor, Academic Coach, Camp Counselor, Mentor, Program Assistant, and various volunteering roles.
